The University Of Portsmouth Sub-Aqua Club and the BSAC welcomes divers who have trained with other agencies, such as PADI, NAUI etc.

As the Club is affiliated to the BSAC, all members are required to join the BSAC and then 'crossover' to the equivalent BSAC diver grade.

The BSAC Statement Of Alternative Training (SALT) Table provides a quick reference guide to the equivalent BSAC diver grade.

What Do I Need To Do?

Not a lot.....

• You need to join the BSAC and UPSAC.

• Buy A Cross Over Pack (£30.00 - Sports Diver or £30.00 Dive Leader and above)

• 1 dive with an Instructor (this is not a 'check-out' dive and can be done anywhere).

• If you have never dived in the UK or have not dived for 6 months then a short pool session with an instructor is needed before the open water dive.
